Innovation Barn

Fueling the Circular Economy

Innovation Barn

The Aquaponics Lab @ Innovation Barn is the “next step” for students in our programs. Student interns seeking to gain more experience in the aquaponics industry will operate this vertical farm and conduct tours to the public. We partner with Mariposa , a Charlotte restaurant, who purchases the leafy greens and supports our educational programs. Purchase the “100 Gardens” salad next time you dine at Mariposa!

The Innovation Barn, located at 932 Seigle Ave. is ground zero for Circular Charlotte, a joint project with the City of Charlotte to transition Charlotte to a circular economy. The Innovation Barn is a combination of entrepreneurial businesses, zero-waste initiatives, and space to convene groups in order to learn more about and implement circular projects. The City of Charlotte owns the building and Envision Charlotte manages, designs, and implements the programming within.
